How to order a skip online

Once you’ve chosen your skip size we’ll ask you three questions to determine the price:

What size skip do I need?
To help you determine the right skip size for your needs, we’ve estimated the total number of standard black bin bags that can fit each option in the visuals above. Here’s a quick guide on what our skips are commonly used for to give you a better idea of the size you need.
- 2 yard skip – Smaller house clearance and DIY jobs, such as spring cleaning and garden clearances.
- 4 yard skip – Perfect for larger home clearances as well as kitchen or bathroom refits.
- 8 yard skip – Also known as builders’ skips, but also effective for general house clearances.
- 14 yard skip – Suitable for commercial, trade and residential use for large house clearances and bulky items.
- 16 yard skip – Best for light construction waste and larger projects like shop fittings.
- 1100L commercial bin – Wheel-based commercial waste bin with water drainage to prevent unwanted fluid build up.
- 20 yard RoRo skip – Low-sided skips for bulky and awkward items as part of light construction or demolition projects.
- 40 yard RoRo skip – Suitable for large amounts of packaging, factory and industrial waste.

Skip hire prices are determined by a few different factors, including the size skip you need and how long you’ll need it for. That’s why we provide a free, instant online quote – so you can get an exact cost for your waste management needs in just a few quick clicks.
Skips are suitable for general waste, such as garden waste, building waste and household waste like packaging. However, there are a few items that you shouldn’t place in a skip. These include food waste, kitchen appliances like fridges, batteries, tyres, asbestos and paint tins. See a full list of dos and don’ts for your skip here.
Depending on the size of your kitchen, you’ll need either a 4 yard skip or an 8 yard skip. If you’re not sure, we recommend sizing up as we’re only able to dispose of waste in a level-loaded skip. While you shouldn’t dispose of fridges and freezers in your skip, you can dispose of non-electrical fittings, gas cookers, wooden cabinets, bricks, rubble and furniture.
We recommend a 4 yard skip for bathroom projects. If you’re fully gutting a larger, 4-piece bathroom, tiles and flooring, you may need a larger skip. Similarly, a 2 yard skip may be sufficient if you’re only making minor changes.
If you’re clearing a single room or storage space, you may only require a 4-8 yard skip. If you’re clearing a whole house, you should choose a 14 yard skip.
As part of your order, you’ll tell us when you want your skip delivered and how long you’ll need it for. We’ll automatically come and collect your waste on the final day of hire, no need to arrange this separately!
